Dyeing Easter Eggs

We couldn't let an Easter go by without our traditional Easter egg dyeing.
See all that concentration going on!

I love to watch all the different eggs they create.

And this year I loved watching Olivia dye, re-dye and dye yet again not only her eggs, but any that were left unattended.

Easter Egg Hunt

Hey!  We had an Easter without snow on the ground this year - novel idea!
The kids actually said they liked finding the Easter eggs in the snowdrifts in years past, but I was not complaining about the snow-less (almost) holiday.  Yes, that is a snowflake falling in front of Leah's face.  We had a little flurry during the hunt, just for memory's sake.
We had a great time looking for eggs, all of us except Alex who was helping a fellow Scout with his Eagle Scout project.
Everyone found a bunch of eggs.
And they even saved some for Alex!

Chop, Stack, Repeat

After the snow melted, we had to sneak in a clean-out-the-woods day to get some of our old fallen-down trees chopped and stacked before the ticks, mosquitoes and poison ivy emerged.

Steven, Lilly, Leah and Ethan were champs at pulling, chopping, tossing, hauling and stacking the wood.
They had a little help from one of Dad's toys, a job Leah promptly volunteered for.  She is, after all, taking driver's-ed this summer --gasp!
Ethan and Leah did an awesome job getting the wood in the new woodshed.  We're hoping that by next winter we have our new boiler ready to go.

This Girl Loves to Dance

Not much else needs to be said than what this picture does...
Ever since she was tiny and catchy music was on, Olivia would dance. This year she finally got to be in an official dance class.
Here is her first day.
And here is what happened on the way home - if you know Olivia at all, you'll understand that it takes a lot to wear her out!
Success!

She had a few dance recitals - one at the nursing home.

The other one was on a Sunday, so she settled for the rehearsal the week before.  She got to wear her costume since she was going to miss the final recital.
Love her - that little bundle of energy!
